Changes in payments
Dear Club Treasurers and Committees,
From 1 October 2026, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) banned card payment surcharges—extra charges added when someone pays by card. Card networks introduced a “no surcharge” rule on the same date.
This means Pin Payments, the provider that processes card payments through revSport, can no longer add a surcharge. Card processing fees still apply, but DBNSW now pays these fees for all card payments made through revSport.
What is DBNSW doing?
· Membership fees: From 1 October, membership fees were adjusted to cover card processing costs. This keeps the amount DBNSW receives after those costs the same as before the ban—for example, $95 for an adult member.
· Other fees: DBNSW is reviewing how card processing costs affect its income before deciding whether to increase other fees invoiced through revSport, including club affiliation, insurance and regatta participation fees.
How can your club help?
· Pay all club invoices by direct bank transfer. If your club currently pays DBNSW by card, please switch to bank transfer now and use it for future payments. This is the simplest way to help DBNSW reduce card processing costs.
· Complete the survey below to let us know how your club plans to make future payments.
Thank you for helping DBNSW manage these costs and for letting us know your club’s payment plans.
