2022 Annual General Meeting

Published Mon 24 Oct 2022

DBNSW held its Annual General Meeting Sunday 23 October at its office in Sydney Olympic Park and online. Thank you to all the life members, clubs and their delegates for attending.

Congratulations and welcome to our new board director, Kathy Cummings (Deepwater Dragon Boat Club), Chen Li (The Sloths Dragon Boat Club), Cassandra Ballebye (Pacific Dragons), Felix Hamilton (Dragon Sports Association), Gillian McCallum (Merimbula Water Dragons) who were all elected on the day.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank the outgoing directors and say farewell to Candice Heine and Wynette Monserrat who have served 2 terms; Chris Cheung and Isabel Menton who have served 1 term; and Jade Murphy-Silver (who has had to retire early due to moving interstate) who has served 1.5 terms on the Board. Their ongoing direction, oversight and contributions to DBNSW should be commended.

While we have 5 directors stepped down as director we can guarantee they will be heavily involved in dragon boating through committee roles, regattas and representing their Club and Region.

The meeting also approved the Annual Report for the 2020/21 season which can be found here as well as the financial report here.

Two constitutional changes were also voted against by our members with the DBNSW constitution remaining unchanged and can be found here

The DBNSW Board is a team of sports leaders who work continuously to improve all aspects of the sport. We are sure to see big an exciting changes ahead that will shape and build us for the future.
