DBNSW Staffing Update

Published Tue 07 Feb 2023

Dear Clubs & Paddlers,

The Board of Dragon Boats NSW (DBNSW) would like to advise our members of the appointment of Lucy Warhurst as Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following the resignation of CEO Tony Henderson.

It is fantastic to have Lucy return to DBNSW as our Interim CEO after stints with both Equestrian Australia and Paddle Australia. As a former CEO of DBNSW, Lucy returns with an in-depth knowledge of the day to day running of the organisation and will be able to transition with the Board of Directors and Staff to ensure minimum disruption to the sport and the membership. Lucy will be with us 3-days a week and the Board have tasked her with the successful delivery of both the Dragons on Darling World Pride Event and the State Championships. Lucy can be contacted on the CEO email address: ceo@dbnsw.org.au

The Board has received a number of applications for the CEO role and will commence interviews this week. We hope to then communicate to you shortly the new CEO who will continue to move the organisation forward into the next exciting phase for the sport.

It is also with sad news that would like to inform you of the resignation of Ramsay Cobb. Ramsay has been with DBNSW for an incredible 7 years. Ramsay’s hard work, professionalism and dedication to his role should be commended, he has been an asset to the organisation. During his tenure, Ramsay has been a valued member of the team and we would like to recognise the role he has played in our sport with regards to: the restructure of the organisation; delivery of DBNSW’s strategic plan initiatives; management of both club and individual members; continuous improvement and development of our regattas; the return to sport plan after COVID; the roll out of digital memberships and Dragon Pass; and his continued never ending administrative support and guidance to all the clubs and members across the state. Ramsay’s last day with us is 1 March.

It is through Ramsay’s hard work that our sport will continue to develop and grow and we’d like to wish Ramsay the best of luck and success in his path ahead!

Equipment and Facilities Coordinator Ryan Le Febvre will be adding additional days in the office to help cover to the administrative workload. During the next couple of months, the Office will have lower capacity to what our clubs and members are used to, so please bear with us during this time. We respectfully request that if your support request is not urgent and can wait until after the delivery of State Championships and our new CEO is in place that would be appreciated.

Any office matters for Ryan or Ramsay will continue to be managed through the Office email address: office@dbnsw.org.au

Kind Regards,
DBNSW Team
