DBNSW Strategy Survey Update

Published Mon 28 Mar 2022

Hello Members,

Over 500 of you recently shared your feedback on our sport’s strategy, and if you wanted to know what’s next - keep reading!

Last week the DBNSW Board met to focus on our sport’s future, and the immediate challenges our community face. Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey, your input guided robust conversations to identify three priorities that we are kicking off with and that we believe you’ll be excited about.

These priorities have taken into consideration our operating context as a result of the pandemic, and surrounding environment challenges, including the regression of membership growth. Despite enduring the worst effects, we have completed a full season on the water, still have over 60 clubs, and the means as well as the motivation to develop our sport.

To grow our sport, the three key priorities to achieve in the short term include:

1) Develop a brand and marketing campaign to raise our sport’s profile for recruitment
2) Build participation rates across NSW
3) Revaluate and reinvigorate our Events to meet more needs of our members

Why only three? Not only do good things come in threes, but these priorities are centred on your feedback around membership, events, and our brand. Focusing on these now, will build us stronger foundations to achieve our long-term strategic goals.

We look forward to updating you on our progress.

Kind Regards,
Nicola Frowen
DBNSW Chair
