NEW BRAND, NEW LOOK, NEW IDENTITY

Published Thu 30 Jun 2022

DBNSW is proud to reveal the new Dragon Boats New South Wales logo.

This is an exciting journey in the evolution of dragon boating in NSW.

This new brand identifies with the core values and characteristics of our members and clubs.

It aligns with AusDBF and other State Dragon Boating bodies to create consistent branding and a clear message across the country, signifying a united sporting movement.

Our new colours are a reflection of who we are - NEW SOUTH WALES, with the NSW blue and light blue the dominant colours.

The red is inspired by the floral emblem of NSW, the Waratah. The Waratah has significance in Aboriginal history and was adopted as the state flower in 1962.

The red eye is a nod to the Taoist monks who perform a blessing of the waters. Red paint is dabbed onto the dragon head of a traditional style boat in a ritual that awakes the dragons.

The Chinese symbols is a reflection of our history and our origins in southern central China more than 2500 years ago.

We hope the membership embraces this new brand, new look and new identity as Dragon Boating in NSW continues to gather energy creating the next united chapter of Dragon Boating in NSW.

Brand guidelines, club adoption plan, logo rollout and education to be released in the coming months.
